It has been a while since we last reported on a factory visit.
Dr. Akitatsu Hayashi, Director of the Lymphedema Center at Kameda General Hospital, who uses our microsurgical sutures with needle, visited our factory for inspection.
First, he visited us at our Ochanomizu office. After Dr. Hayashi introduced himself and answered various questions, we had a tour of the office.
Perhaps because we are a company with a long history, our long-time customers tend to think of us as a small manufacturer with a few older employees, but in fact, one of the surprising points of the factory tour was that there are many young employees as well.
Also, the interior of the office was completely changed with the relocation, so it has an atmosphere not unlike that of a medical equipment manufacturer… Dr. Hayashi gave us a pleasant comment that he could stay here all day.
(Coffee, power, and wifi are always available, so please stop by. laugh )
Next, we went to the Tsukuba Factory in Ibaraki Prefecture, about an hour and a half drive from Tokyo.
Although not a very large plant, it was a very quick two hours, filled with lots of activities, such as seeing the automated manufacturing machines developed by the company and meeting directly with the person in charge of new product development to receive feedback.
After seeing various processing and manufacturing equipment, Doctor Hayashi said, “Only with this equipment, you can make anything!” During the factory tour, he said that he immediately came up with an idea for development.
The tour ended with a visit to the main factory to see the manufacturing process of sutures with needles for microsurgery, which are used in daily life, and the processing of needles.
At the main factory, there is a lot of manual processing by skilled craftsmen, and there are also analog machines for prototyping. The visitors were impressed not only by the high-tech facilities at the Tsukuba Factory but also by the precision manual processing.
We hope that you were able to tour our various locations in a single day and learn all you could about our technology and atmosphere.
We have had online factory tours for a while with COVID-19 Disaster, but it is very encouraging to see them in person and get your feedback.
I am sure I am not the only one who was inspired by Dr. Hayashi’s enthusiasm and power to bring our products for microsurgery to more people.
Thank you very much for your valuable time.
We are always happy to conduct factory tours for medical professionals who use our products on a regular basis.
